Working with Nico Romo was a really unique learning experience for me as a lead server and their social media coordinator. Content creating in my hospitality bubble was exactly what I needed to realize my potential as a growing artist. Passionate about photography, I was able to create an environment where I could grow while still supporting myself financially using the skills that I already had learned from my years of service. It gave me that edge to engage about wine/food and the inner workings of NICO, to all of our collective fifteen-thousand followers. Growth in followers, the year I curated the social media accounts, grew by 215%.
I remember the day we celebrated as a restaurant with a 10k followers goal reached. As a team we were able to accomplish so much, being recognized locally and internationally for our innovative take on a modernized French culinary experience. Collaborations and opportunities to create came plentiful as we were featured regularly in local and national publications such as Eater, Charleston Magazine, Traveler, and Thrillist. We even worked closely with the cast of the hit Bravo show, Southern Charm. It was a fulfilling experience seeing images and graphics that I had created being used and appreciated and an opportunity I treasure.
